DISCOVER study publications update
With recruitment of patients to the DISCOVER study successfully completed, ambitious plans for the publication of baseline data are underway. Abstracts reporting the main findings from the baseline study visit have been submitted to the 77th Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association (ADA), which will be held on 9–13 June 2017 in San Diego, CA, USA. This is one of the world’s largest and most prominent diabetes meetings and the DISCOVER Scientific Committee hopes to have the opportunity to share the exciting initial findings from the study with colleagues from across the globe.
Following complete analysis of the baseline DISCOVER data, additional abstracts will be developed for submission to the 53rd European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) Annual Meeting to be held on 11–15 September 2017 in Lisbon, Portugal. The Scientific Committee is also pleased to report that the first DISCOVER manuscript has been submitted for publication. This article outlines the rationale for and methods of the global DISCOVER programme. Additional manuscripts, focusing on the DISCOVER baseline data, are also being developed.
