The Scientific Committee looks to the future
As the DISCOVER study enters its final year of data collection, Scientific Committee members met in Paris, France, on 26 and 27 November to discuss the wealth of data collected so far.
Discussions centred around year-2 data and patient retention, which, thanks to the sustained efforts of participating physicians, remains high. The meeting also focussed on planning manuscripts and congress abstracts for 2019 and beyond to ensure that insightful and novel DISCOVER publications are produced. A substantial number of patients have already had their last visit and the Scientific Committee members now look forward to seeing the final study results in 2019. With continued enthusiasm from both physicians and patients, it will be exciting to see the impact of the DISCOVER study on the global diabetes community!
Professor Kamlesh Khunti, a member of the DISCOVER Scientific Committee, said, “We are reaching a critical point in the DISCOVER study, with some new insights into prescribing patterns that have not been assessed previously at a global scale.”
