DISCOVER presents new insights on glycaemic control
Professor Kamlesh Khunti of the DISCOVER Scientific Committee did an outstanding job of presenting the DISCOVER poster on glycaemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes at the 77th Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association on Sunday 11 June.
Despite recommendations from clinical guidelines, glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) levels are not routinely measured in all countries. In the 74.8% of DISCOVER patients for whom HbA1c was measured, levels were consistently high; 29.8% of patients had HbA1c levels greater than or equal to 9.0%, suggesting that the initiation of second-line therapies is delayed in many patients.
Thank you to all the investigators for continuing to play a vital part in collecting the data for DISCOVER. For further updates, please keep visiting the DISCOVER website.
